DoorDash Wrong Address & GPS Issues: What Drivers Are Reporting
Real experiences from r/DoorDashDrivers — drivers share frustrating navigation failures and support challenges

"Yeah this happens more than it should honestly. DD app has some weird glitches with addresses, especially in areas where GPS gets confused or there's construction. I had similar thing happen few weeks ago — app showed one address but customer was actually at different building entirely. Support always tries to blame the GPS first but sometimes it's just their system being buggy. Keep taking screenshots like you did, it helps when you need to prove what happened. Most of the time addresses are correct but when they mess up it's always at worst possible moment."
"I've done over 10k in deliveries and have had this happen maybe 4 times when a customer has multiple addresses stored in their consumer account (work, home, relative etc). Every time except once the actual customer called me and said Ooops! It just depends on how far the intended address is from the drop off in the app that dictates how you handle it."
"I've only had it happen a couple times where the map ping was wrong and didn't match the address. You are not responsible for taking it to another location. Call Support. One time the ping was wrong and I called Support on the way to delivering to the right address and they said they would not increase the pay for the extra mileage. That if I was going to the store to return it they would have given me an extra half pay. I asked how that makes any sort of sense that they would not give me half pay to complete the order for the customer. Called back and the other agent escalated it and I got half pay but that taught me never to deliver to a secondary location. It just goes to the ping."
📊 What We Found
Wrong address issues are the most frequently reported problem among DoorDash drivers in this analysis. Many drivers describe situations where the app shows one location while the customer is actually at a completely different building — often in areas with construction or where GPS signals get confused.
A common pattern emerged: support frequently attempts to blame GPS rather than acknowledging system glitches. Several drivers reported that additional compensation for extra mileage must be negotiated before delivery is completed, otherwise support refuses to adjust pay.
The most experienced drivers with thousands of deliveries advised that screenshots are essential for proving what happened, and that calling support back sometimes results in a different outcome if the first agent refuses to help. Interestingly, when customers have multiple addresses stored in their accounts, errors become more likely, and how far the ping is from the actual location often determines how drivers handle the situation.

"I've had GPS flake out on me once, it was trying to tell me a Sbarros pizza location was in the middle of a subdivision. Support made me take pictures of my surroundings to verify there were no stores where my gps location was. Eventually they cancelled the order and I got half-pay."
"If you have the navigation turned on to take you to a hotspot and you get an order sometimes it will take you to the hotspot anyway rather than the order. When navigating to a hotspot use Google maps always."
"They'll only give additional compensation if you get them to agree to it before the delivery is complete."
"Yep, gotta get it up front."
📌 Bottom line: Wrong address and GPS issues are the top frustrations among DoorDash drivers in this analysis. A common theme across multiple reports: screenshot everything and get compensation agreements upfront before completing deliveries — because support rarely adjusts pay afterward.
